Past and present are architecturally melded together to satisfy the desire for modern interiors while maintaining the spirit of western heritage. Local designer Holly Haus has created a streamlined look for the interiors of this Howelsen Place residence. The goal was to combine metropolitan elements with traditional basics while remembering the nostalgia and history that surrounds the building. This becomes evident in the use of natural stone tile, warm woods and stainless-steel accents. This transitional style is achieved by juxtaposing a warm atmosphere with the idea of an urban loft by using clean lines, geometric design, and a harmonious combination of color and pattern. Each finish was chosen to represent the essence of Steamboat. A mountain town full of history that embraces modern luxuries while preserving a feeling of serenity and simplicity. The main living area has a large flat screen TV with surround sound, a gas-burning fireplace, cork floors accented by gorgeous rugs. The dining table sits six people, and the kitchen is well equipped for even the most discerning chef, with stainless appliances and breakfast bar. Please note the 3rd bedroom/Den has no window. This residence features a large wraparound deck with fabulous views of the ski area and downtown Steamboat, and is setup with two seating areas.

Great downtown location. Lots of options for nightlife and great to have the bus to the slopes pick up right below the condo. Gave us lots of flexibility for our group in everyone going at their own pace.

Beautiful condo in downtown Steamboat. We loved the accessibility to hiking, the beautiful river, trails, restaurants and shopping! This unit has incredible views and we loved the balcony day or night!

We visited in the summer with our 3 young adult children and two of their friends. Be aware this is not a "peaceful" mountain location since you are on the main street. However, we chose this so we could be in the middle of the action, the kids could come and go with ease, and we could all walk to dinner. We enjoyed having a glass of wine on the balcony and watching the activity in the evenings along with walking one block to the river for a morning stroll. While there are two comfortable couches in the living room the curtains do not close so unless someone is an early riser do not plan on sleeping in the main area. The master bedroom does have a chair which folds out to a twin bed for additional sleeping. The only issue we had was the main area seemed a tad warm and we couldn't get it too cool. After our third time of investigating we realized the thermostat in the hall controlled the bedrooms, but the main area was controlled by a thermostat near the front door and it was turned completely off. Once we fixed that the place cooled down nicely, but they should probably put instructions somewhere in the unit. Check in was a piece of cake and the lady at the front desk was great anwering a million questions for us! We would stay here again.

This is the second time we have stayed at Howelsen Place, but the first time in this condo at spring break. The convenience of staying downtown, the great public bus system, and the Gondola Ski Club is definitely worth it. The condo was beautiful and well maintained. Love being able to walk to breakfast, jump on the bus, ski all day, come back, relax, and walk to dinner.

The accomodations were just great and we had a great time but I have one suggestion. We had a 3 bedroom condo which means at least 6 people. With that said we had only one parking spot allocated. This means everyone was constantly going out on the street to move their cars out of the 3 hour time limit parking. This was a major distraction. You really need to provide parking when selling luxury condos no matter where you are.
